Planning a Mobility-Friendly Trip to the Columbus Food Truck Festival

The Columbus Food Truck Festival sets up at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Hilliard on August 14–15, 2026, with more than 50 food trucks, live music, and a weekend's worth of walking between them. It's a great outing for a family — but an open-air fairgrounds lot is a different kind of walking than a mall or a downtown sidewalk, and that matters if you're planning the trip around a parent, grandparent, or anyone who tires out over long distances.

The Two Days You're Actually Choosing Between

Friday, August 14 runs 4 PM to 10 PM — an evening visit, likely cooler and a bit more relaxed. Saturday, August 15 runs 11 AM to 10 PM and is the bigger day, with an expanded kids zone and the festival's headline live music. If someone in your group needs to pace themselves, Friday evening is generally the gentler option; Saturday means more hours on your feet, but also more going on if that's what you're there for.

What "Fairgrounds" Means for Walking

A festival built around 50+ food trucks isn't contained in one small area — trucks, seating, stages, and vendor booths are typically spread across a wide outdoor lot, with grass or gravel sections mixed in with any paved paths. Add in the walk from parking, time spent standing in line at each truck you want to try, and backtracking for restrooms or a second helping, and the total distance covered adds up fast, especially in mid-August heat. None of that is a problem if you're moving freely — but it's exactly the kind of day where a mobility scooter turns "we should probably skip it" into "let's go."

Getting a Scooter to Your Door Before the Gates Open

The easiest way to handle festival day is to not think about mobility equipment at all once you're there. We deliver your scooter to your home or hotel ahead of time, walk you through the controls, and it's simply loaded into the car when you're ready to head to Hilliard — no rental counter at the gate, no hoping the fairgrounds has something available on-site. If you'll be crossing grass or gravel near the vendor lot, mention that when you book; we can point you toward a scooter with the ground clearance to handle it comfortably.

Handling the Crowd, the Lines, and the Kids Zone

Weekend food festivals draw a crowd, and Saturday's expanded kids zone means families with strollers, kids, and grandparents all moving through the same space. A scooter makes it much easier to hold your spot in a food truck line, then reposition for the next one, without the fatigue of standing the whole time. If you're coordinating a multi-generation outing, having mobility sorted out in advance means nobody has to cut their day short while everyone else keeps going.

What a Festival-Weekend Rental Costs

For a single day or the full two-day festival, our shortest rental runs $40/day in Ohio. If your visit stretches into a longer weekend trip — say you're also using the scooter for other errands or a longer family visit — the rate drops to $35/day for 3–6 days and $25/day for 7–19 days. Every rental includes free scheduled delivery, setup, and pickup, with no deposit and no contract.

Booking Ahead of August 14

Festival weekends are popular across the Hilliard and Dublin area, so the sooner you call, the more flexibility we have on delivery timing. A day or two of lead time is usually enough to guarantee your scooter is ready before the gates open.
